What policies are followed in maintaining the information on the website?
Initially information was gathered from many sources. Now that the website is in operation,
classmates mostly control what information is included in his or her profile.
General website policies followed:
- Addresses are shown as listed in the US Postal Service database.
- Unlisted phone numbers will not be shown. The profile will show "unlisted". If we have the
phone number...you will see "unlisted and on file". In these cases if you wish to contact a
classmate, send me an email and I will contact the person and ask them to get in touch with
you. I do not provide unlisted phone numbers.
What steps are taken to insure safety of personal information in this website?
Personal information like email addresses are only included in the classmate profiles.
Before creating the pdf files, all "links" are removed. This means there is no realistic way
any computer could access the email addresses in these pdf files. If you have further
concerns, please contact me.

What determines the success of this website?
The success of this website depends of the support of classmates and their providing
information about class news and maintaining a current and complete classmate profile.
What is the cost of maintaining this website?
The cost is $11.95 per month. We are on the minimal and least expensive plan - that still
provides the necessary services and support we need.
Questions concerning broadcast emails...
What steps are followed to insure class broadcast emails are safe from viruses,
pests, and adware?
On the computer that maintains this website and sends the broadcast class emails - the
following software is used.
Firewall - Broderbund Zone Alarm Pro runs constantly. It is one of the few firewalls that
monitors both incoming and outgoing activity. Suspect activity is suspended and alerts
are displayed.
Viruses - Norton SystemWorks w/ Anti-virus runs constantly scanning both incoming and
outgoing emails. Virus definitions are updated at least weekly and after that a full system
scan is performed.
Pests - PestPatrol scans the system constantly and is updated weekly. After each
update a full system scan is performed.
Adware - Lavasoft Ad-Aware Pro scans the system constantly and is checked for updates
weekly. After each update a full system scan is performed.
What policies are followed in issuing class broadcast emails?
General broadcast email policies followed:
- Purpose of broadcast emails is to distribute information of interest about class activities,
classmates, and local news of interest.
- Broadcast emails will NOT include any
o Political statements or commentary
o Editorial statements or commentary
- Email addresses of recipients will never be shown in the emails.
Emails are always sent to "Undisclosed Recipient" and "blind copied" to classmates.
- Content -
In terms of what content is included...it often involves a judgment... particularly when it
involves a personal or family situation.
If appropriate, the classmate will be contacted for review of information prior to issuing the
broadcast email.
But there have been, and are other times, when it is not reasonable to try to contact the
classmate prior to publication. Often this involves the death of a family member or other
personal/family situation.
We will always strive to be professional and sensitive when issuing broadcast emails. We
will be sensitive to
o the feelings of our classmates and family members
o your desire for privacy
o the concern and caring of your classmates.
